STELLA JONES
celebrates
MAHALIA JACKSON

MAHALIA: Queen of Gospel Music is a group exhibition celebrating the 100th birthday of Mahalia Jackson in paintings, prints, photographs, and sculptures.  Mahalia transcended cultural genres, race, poverty, gender and class. Against all odds, during a tumultuous time in America's history, she became one of New Orleans' greatest ambassadors and the worlds most renowned gospel singer.

MAHALIA: Queen of Gospel Music, celebrates her life and her continuing influence on gospel music.
